Bowyer and Elliott lament missed opportunity at Bristol

Clint Bowyer and Chase Elliott came away from Bristol with strong finishes, but both lament the missed chance for a victory at the Worlds Fastest Half-Mile. Both drivers spent time out front Saturday night, but fell short at the checkered flag.  For Bowyer, it all came down to a late-race restart. On Lap 473 of 500, he and teammate Kurt Busch restarted side-by-side, but Busch was able ... ... Opinion: Bristol Night Race win says much about SHR, Kurt Busch

And that’s not a bad guess because the youngest Busch brother had seven career wins at Bristol as he headed into the 500-lap race on one of NASCAR’s most popular tracks. However, he still had seven after the completion of the Monster Energy Cup Series race. If I told you the race was won by a driver out of the Stewart-Haas Racing stable, you’d probably guess Kevin Harvick and again ... ... Keep reading...

Truex "played too nice and got the crappy end of the stick”

It’s no secret that the one place Martin Truex Jr. has struggled at in his Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series career is on short tracks. In his last 12 starts at Bristol, he’s only scored one top-10 finish. Although Truex was collected in a multi-car incident on Lap 2, he rebounded and was battling Clint Bowyer for the race lead when Busch got into his left-rear on Lap 433 of 500. “I ... ...
